Chocol Ha in the heart of San Francisco de Campeche is a café that seamlessly blends rich local chocolate culture with a relaxed breakfast and brunch vibe. Situated on the bustling but charming C. 59 30, this spot feels like a peaceful pause within the historic Zona Centro. The colonial architecture pairs nicely with modern touches, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere ideal for lingering over drinks or a light meal.

This café’s real draw is its creative use of chocolate, showcasing traditional flavors alongside contemporary takes. Patrons often come here to savor their signature hot chocolate variations—from the classic Chocolate Caliente to more playful options like Chocolate Con Menta Frío or a refreshing frappé. The menu also offers savory and wholesome choices for breakfast, such as the Quiché de Espinacas or the Tamal Campechano, attracting visitors who want some variety beyond the usual café fare.

Locals and travelers alike find Chocol Ha a welcoming spot to start the day or enjoy a midday break. The staff’s friendly and attentive approach makes it feel like a neighborhood refuge, while the interior patio and shaded seating provide comfort even during Campeche’s warmer hours. It's particularly inviting on weekends or early mornings when the café fills with a relaxed crowd—couples, solo visitors with books or laptops, and small groups catching up over coffee and chocolate treats.

The café doubles as a small boutique where you can pick up artisanal cacao bars and unique chocolate products, reflecting the region’s deep chocolate heritage. This adds an interesting dimension to visits, making it more than just a place to eat or drink but also a spot to connect with local food craft.

If you’re drawn to places that honor tradition through flavor but also offer a calm and comfortable setting to savor them, Chocol Ha sets a tone that feels distinctly Campechan. Its emphasis on chocolate-based breakfast items and beverages makes it especially appealing for those who want a thoughtful, quiet start to their day or a mid-morning indulgence without the rush.

A very welcoming place! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is very peaceful and pleasant, and the staff is friendly! We found this place by chance, and it seemed excellent for breakfast. So much so, that we went there for breakfast both days we were in Campeche. The hot chocolate is a delight!

Charming says it best for the location and atmosphere. Very comfortable to sit and relax and indulge. My husband and I had Hot Chocolate, one was Dark Chocolate and a Chocolate Tamale, oh my goodness it was so so good! I can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu. This is a must do in Campeche and right on 59th Street.

This place never disappoints! We've been to Campeche at least three times and every time we stop here to eat. Friendly service, amazing food. Often hard to find really great coffee in Mexico but here, it's fabulous!! My husband and I each ordered crepes I went for the ham and cheese, he went for the chocolate and banana. We split, both were wonderful. The atmosphere is also very peaceful, despite being very busy. We stopped here for a latte or cappuccino in the afternoon. We will be back again next trip through the city.
